At Home Manicure
One of my best purchases during quarantine without a doubt has been my Mani Kit from Olive and June. For $80 you get everything you need for the perfect at-home manicure! Everything you need to prep your nails: nail polish remover (I love their handy little pot/so easy!), nail clippers, a nail file, and nail buffer. And then everything for painting: 6 polishes (in the colors of your choosing), a topcoat, a cleanup brush, cuticle serum, and lastly, their Poppy (a top you add to the polish to help keep the painting process smooth!)
Prior to quarantine - a weekly manicure was undoubtedly one of my guilty pleasures when I lived in New York City. So painting my own nails is not exactly a skill I have mastered from many years of experience. (It is so hard to paint with your nondominant hand!) But like all things, I think it just takes practice. My current quarantine routine is giving myself a new manicure every weekend! And slowly but surely, I think I am seeing a bit of improvement each week. (Olive & June has a ton of tips and videos here on their site, and they are also posting lots of content on their Instagram during quarantine!)
I love their range of polish colors - in my kit I went with: CV, SC, JG, HZ, BI and GH. (The names of all Olive & June nail polishes are after friends/inspiring women in Sarah Gibson Tuttle’s life!) There is no need for a base coat when using Olive & June polish because the formula typically found in a base coat is mixed into the polish color (I love getting to skip that step!)
If you are missing your regular manicure at the nail salon during quarantine, I would certainly recommend one of the Olive & June kits! (*use this link and get 10% off your first Olive & June purchase over $50+.)
