Happy Monday! Sorry for the radio silence here on the blog last week, as I mentioned it was my first week of work in New York so I was busy with work and getting adjusted to my new schedule. But this week I am back with a great group of posts, so be sure to check back on Simply Elegant throughout the week. I had a great week in New York and then stayed here in the city for the weekend so that I could continue to get settled in my apartment. There is still a lot of work to be done in my apartment but it is starting to come together. Some highlights from my week -- I had dinner at Charlie Bird when my dad was in town for work. We loved everything we ordered; it is a great spot! Over the weekend I had brunch at Cafe Gitane in the Jane Hotel and saw Woody Allan's new film, Cafe Society. What about you all, did you have a good weekend?
As we start the new week, here is the latest edition of Simply Found.
Over the weekend I caved and decided it was time to try the much acclaimed lipstick from Glossier after reading this post on A Cup of Jo. I decided on the color 'Like' and also re-ordered my tried and true favorite, the Brow Boy. I have loved all the products I have tried from Glossier so far and I also love the reasonable price range of all the products. (Here is a link for 20% off your first order!)
One Kings Lane has been one of my go-to's while I work on finding pieces for my new apartment. My mom and I have always loved pieces from the furniture line, Oomph, and this black side table with a raffia top is on my wish list! Speaking of raffia, how fun are these raffia shoes?! I have a pair of Artemis Design Co Loafers but I think these lace up shoes could be perfect for the summer months. Look at how cute they are here.
My never ending handbag addition has introduced me to a new company, Shaffer LA. My favorite design is their Dana bucket bag..but with so many great color options I don't know how to decided which one to get? Speaking of California, one of my favorite interior designers, Mark D. Sikes, has released his latest edition of his clothing collection MDS Stripes on pre-order at M'oda 'Operandi. While blue and white stripes are usually my automatic choice I am drawn to a lot of the red pieces.
So there you have it, from makeup to side tables and stripe skirts, those are a few things that have caught my eye lately.
