Nan's Simple Margarita Recipe
Time for a Margarita!
As many of you know, my go-to cocktail is a fresh, delicious margarita!
Over the years, if I do say so myself, I think I have landed on a fool proof at home margarita recipe. I shared the simple recipe over on Instagram last week but I wanted to be sure to share here on the blog as well.
Follow the simple steps below to make a delicious margarita at home!
Nan’s Simple Margarita Recipe:
1.5 ounces tequila
1 ounce lime juice
Of course, freshly squeezed lime juice is ideal. But I am not going to lie to you, I have certainly been known to use store bought lime juice once or twice when I am in a rush. (This is the kind I usually buy.)
0.75 ounces cointreau
0.5 ounces simple syrup
There is no need to buy this, it is truly one of the easiest things to make. It is just one part sugar, one part water. (So lets say 1/2 cup sugar + 1/2 cup water, heat on a saucepan over medium heat till sugar dissolves, and then your done. And it can be stored in a airtight container for up to month.) Sometimes when I am lazy I also just make in the microwave!
Make it Spicy!
Add a salted rim with Red Clay Hot Sauce’s Spicy Margarita Salt
Or replace the simple syrup with Grig Gris’ Jalapeño Simple Syrup
Once you have the margarita recipe down, make cocktail hour a bit more fun with a fun cocktail napkin!
