Beginner Needlepoint Canvases

Blue Heart Canvas by Silver Needle via Lycette Designs.

You all know I love to needlepoint!

I am always working on multiple projects - one day it might be a needlepoint pillow and the next it might be my big backgammon board project!

I am often asked for suggestions on how to start needlepointing and specific what is the best beginner canvas. Hopefully you have read my blog post with all my beginner tips on how to get started needlepointing but I wanted to write a this post focused on the best beginner needlepoint canvases to buy.

You will find a wide range of vendors and canvas ideas below. I hope you find the perfect project to start with!

*Note - these needlepoint canvases are painted by hand and typically painted in small batches. Therefore, these canvases will not always be in stock and available for sale. Please know this is normal and the products will surely be back in stock soon, feel free to reach out to the shop for more info.

Greystone Needlepoint

This online needlepoint shop by Shannon Zimolong is one of my go-to spots for buying needlepoint online! Shannon has a background in interior design and therefore has a great eye, I love all the canvas designs she offers. Additionally, she is so helpful at picking out beautiful thread colors!

Shannon has a great range of beginner needlepoint canvases, many of which are sold as kits. In addition to your canvas order, be sure to download Greystone’s Beginners Guide to Needlepoint that is full of tips and tricks on how to get started with stitching.
