My Everyday Makeup
Last week I shared my current skincare routine - this week let's discuss makeup! I only have a few makeup products with me at my parents' house (just these tried and true favorites) that I threw in my cosmetic case at the start of Covid19/quarentine. I have to admit, having this curated group of products does make getting ready in the morning much quicker!
All of these items happen to be 'clean' / 'natural' makeup. I am not a stickler about these things but I figure when it's possible (and you are not sacrificing quality), it can't hurt! Right?!
Foundation: ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 Foundation
I have been using this foundation for about two months and I love it! It is light coverage, perfect for the day, and gives your skin a beautiful glow. (A bonus, SPF is included!)
Concealer: ILIA True Skin Serum Concealer
This is the first product that made me a fan of ILIA, the clean beauty line. I never thought I could find a 'clean' concealer that could rival my all-time favorite Tarte concealer, but this concealer does the trick! I use it both under my eyes and to cover up any blemishes.
Bronzer / Contour: Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick in Biscuit
Gucci Westman, acclaimed celebrity and fashion makeup artist, has created a beautiful line of natural skincare products and I am so impressed with every product I have tried from the line! The stick foundation is great and the highligher is a dream product!
I can't say I know how to 'contour' (lol), but I aim to use this product to add some definition to my face! I use it the way I would a bronzer but simply apply the stick right on my face and rub in with my fingers.
Mascara: Saie Mascara 101
You might think it would be hard to find a good 'clean' mascara but I have found that there are some wonderful options out there; I have Ilia's and Westman Atelier's back at my apartment and both are great!
Saie, a clean beauty brand that is less than a year old, has been receiving rave reviews for their mascara, so I decided to give it a try and ordered it during the start of quarantine. And, wow! This mascara is everything and more! I am a huge fan! For $24 they have created an amazing product! If you try one thing from this round up, it should be this. Truly!
When talking about mascara and eyelashes - I feel I must point out that I think using an eyelash curler is imperative! You are never going to love your mascara or eyelashes unless you curl them!
Brows: Saie Brow Butter in Tinted
Another product from Saie - consider this the 'clean' alternative to your beloved Boy Brow from Glossier.
The 2 Minute Makeup Kit is the perfect place to start if you want to try a few Saie products at once! The kit includes all of my favorites from their line - the Mascara and Brow Butter that I mention here as well as a lip balm and their Glowy Super Gel (a luminizer that I use as a primer before foundation to add a nice glow to my skin.)
Cheeks + Lips #1: Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Charming
Tata Harper makes beautiful natural products on her farm in Vermont and I have loved her Lip and Cheek tints for years (who doesn't love a double-duty product!) - this Very Charming is a soft pink. (I also love the Very Popular colorway, which is a bit of a bolder pink!)
Cheeks + Lips #1: Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Dou Dou
Another double-duty product that works for both your cheeks and lips - this colorway is a bit more of a soft dusty rose.
If you are looking for more lip color options from Westman Atelier, I would suggest Lip Suede - a compact that includes four matte lip shades. I ordered this the other week and love all four of the red hues!
