2020 SIMPLY ELEGANT GIFT GUIDE

For the final Simply Elegant Gift Guide of the season we have the stocking. In our family, we always open our Christmas stockings first thing, before anything else, before breakfast or any other presents. I think it is my favorite part of the whole day. There is just something so sweet about a stocking - none of us probably need anything more than a few stocking stuffers (do we?) I love the small trinkets, little treasures, pieces of chocolate (or fruit - Philip family stockings always include a few oranges or grapefruit / a good way to take up space.) I hope you will find a some helpful gift idea below ranging from beauty ideas to accessories to quirky utilitarian gifts that my family always seems to enjoy.

"Make Mine a Double" Embroidered Cocktail Napkin from August Morgan

We are big fans of August Morgan’s cheeky cocktail napkins at our house, they are just always so spot on. A set of these napkins are sure to make anyone smile this holiday - find more fun options on their site.

LouisSherry_Schumacher_ChocolateBox.jpg

Is any Christmas stocking complete without chocolate - I think not! More than just the treat inside the box, we love to keep these metal tins as keepsakes - the perfect little trinket holders.

Block-Print-Floral-Tea-Towel-by-Terrain.jpg

Everyone could use a few extra dish towels and I love this feminine floral block print.

Hand Sanitizer Mini by MegaBabe .jpg

Would it really be a Christmas stocking in 2020 without hand sanitizer? I feel like I have tried ever brand imaginable over the past nine months and the hand sanitizer from MegaBabe is my absolute favorite - it doesn’t dry out your hands like many other alternatives, it has a nice subtle citrus scent.

We also keep their Larger Sized Hand Sanitizer Pump by our front door so we can use it every time we enter the house.

Measuring-Jigger.jpg

The perfect stocking stuffer for any cocktail lover so they can measure out the exact amounts. We have this and use it quite often ;)

Makeup-Towel-Wash-Cloths-by-Weezie.jpg

We all know that moment when we are washing off our makeup, go to dry our face on fluffy white washcloth and see the makeup residue or mascara on the washcloth…! Much to my mom’s dismay.

These navy washcloths from Weezie are a total game-changer allowing you to keep your white towels clean and fresh and reserve these for anytime you wear makeup. I own multiple of these and keep them in constant rotation in my bathroom. With a $40 price point they are one of my go-to gifts.

Resurfacing Face Mask from Tata Harper

Hands down my favorite face mask! Your skin will instantly feel brighter and more glowy after using this Tata Harper non-toxic mask.

It is also clear, so your giftee could wear it on a zoom work call without anyone knowing - nothing like multi-tasking!

1lb Wrist Weights by Bala

Perfect for anyone who has a new at-home workout routine. My mom and I both have these Bala hand/wrist weights (from our Christmas stockings last year!)

Lip Balm by Kosas.png

We all need a go-to lip balm during the cold winter months and this clean option from Kosas is my favorite. The ingredients include Hyaluronic Acid making the balm ultra hydrating.

Bracelet by Bombonitas.png

These fun bracelets have been one of my favorite finds of 2020! I love a good stack of bracelets and these add a fun pop of color and personality.

To order, simply send @bombonitas DM and they will send you a link to pay. It is super easy & fast. I would say the bracelets are around $80+ depending on what beads you select.

Oy Vey Stationery from Kule.png

I am of the camp that you can never have too much stationery and I think these cards are too fun!

Large Pearl Hoop Earrings by Tuckernuck

Fun statement earrings feel more prevalent than ever this year with all the zoom calls now part of our every day work routine. These fun earrings (for under $50) would make a great gift!

Flower Mittens from Frances Valentine

We could all use a fresh pair of warm gloves or mittens every winter and how fun is this set with bold flowers from Frances Valentine?

John Derian Playing Cards.jpg

The holidays are always the perfect time for game nights - nothing like a little fun family competition. A great stocking gifts for the guys (who are always slightly harder to shop for, I think!)

Hair Scrunchies by. J.McLaughlin

A pair of these silk hair scrunchies would be such a nice gift, the perfect way to elevate any look.

Return Address Labels by Felix Doolittle

Go the extra mile and add in a stocking stuffer that is personalized, like these beautiful return address labels from Felix Doolittle.

Or if you are filling a stocking for a child, maybe a set of personalized bookplates?

BoleTextilesPouches.jpg

I feel like I can never have enough small clutches and pouches, I am always using them to store everything from making to all my charing cords. Bole Rode is dedicate to supporting artisans in Ethiopia where all of their fabric is made.

MargauxSocks.jpg

Is there anything more perfect for a cozy winter morning than a great sock? Add a fun hue and scallop detail - what is not to love. My favorite shoe brand, Margaux, just launched a collection of socks and they make for the perfect stocking stuffer. I think this might be what a lot of people in my life are receiving for Christmas gifts this year ;)

*use code Nan10 at checkout for 10% off your first Margaux order.

Don’t forget about the men! They need socks too. Here is my go-to for men’s socks.

Silk Scrunchie from Slip .png

I bought these silk hair scrunchies on a whim this fall and have been using them constantly. They might be a bit of a splurge over your simple drug store hair tie (that is why they are a great gift!) but I love the way they don’t leave a crease/bump in my hair after I wear a ponytail.

Blush Stick from Westman Atelier.png

Gift the gift of a little color! Westman Atelier is one of my go-to clean beauty companies and I love this blush stick (I use it on both my cheeks and lips.) It comes in a few shades but I recommend Dou Dou or Chouchette.

Tissue Box Cover from Lindroth Design.jpg

I love a Stocking Stuffers that is a a nice extras you would not think to get for yourself. I feel like we all have more tissue boxes around during the winter months but who wants to look at the branded Kleenex box, so instead cover it with this chic block print option from Lindroth Design.

Hair Towel by Crown Affair.png

If you are not using a special towel for your hair - I don’t know what you are doing with your life; it makes such a difference.

This hair towel by Crown Affair is the best of the best.

Sunscreen by Elta MD

We spend our holidays in Florida so I would not be surprised if there is some sunscreen in the stockings at our house this year (our stocking stuffers tend be quite ‘utilitarian’.)

My go-to sunscreen is Elta MD but we also love anything by SuperGoop.

Box Cutter from Amazon.png

Speaking of utilitarian stocking stuffers - this $18 box cutter will change your life. It is easier to hold than your standard box cutter and safer as it is made with a ceramic blade. If you receive as many delivers as we do, this is one of those random Amazon finds that is well worth it.

Floral Face Mask Pack by Tory Burch.png

Would it be Christmas in 2020 if stockings did not include Face Masks?!

Find a blog post with all my favorite face masks and face mask chains here.

Tortoise-Accessories-from-Machete.jpg

I love all the chic hair accessories and jewelry in pale tortoise (they also come in many other color ways!) They would make perfect small items for a stocking.

Instant Look Palette by Charlotte Tilbury

I aim to always use ‘clean’ skincare and makeup whenever possible but this makeup palette is one of my exceptions. I read about it on Vogue a few years back and have sworn by it ever since. It is the perfect all in one makeup pallet - bronzer, highlighter, blush, and eyeshadow. I love to keep this in my purse or in my makeup bag any time I travel because it just has everything you need in one compact.

(*note, They only sell this product during the holiday season, so be sure to snag it before its gone or you will have to wait till next year.)
