Weekend in The City

I hope you all had a great weekend! My mom came to visit for the weekend, it was so wonderful to see her and be in New York with her for a few days. My mom and I are super close, best friend status, so I have missed her so it was wonderful to be back with my partner in crime.

We spent time on the upper east side, where she was staying, and then also went downtown for some shopping and exploring. Some of our favorite meals were at East Pole and Grand Banks. I have been wanting to go to Grand Banks, a restaurant on a sailboat at Pier 25 on the Hudson, for weeks so I was so excited to have the time to go. We went for lunch and had a wonderful time, great seafood and cocktails! To break up our shopping we also tried to spend some time doing more cultural activities; we went to the 9/11 Memorial Museum for the first time which was very moving and then on Saturday night we went to see Hamilton on Broadway. If you all are looking for a show to see this year, I would highly suggest Hamilton. We loved it and were laughing the whole time! Another favorite find of the weekend, Little Collins. My mom was saying in the 60's so Little Collins was right down the street at 56th and Lex. The tiny little coffee shop was wonderful, we loved it so much we went two mornings in a row!
