Skincare Review: Vintner's Daughter Oil & Essence

If you ask people in the clean beauty space for their favorite splurge-worthy skincare product, many people will likely suggest the Vintner's Daughter.

Back in the winter of 2021, after months of quarantine, my skin felt dull and lackluster. Additionally, I was having some texture issues on my forehead with old acne scars. It felt like it was time to change things up in my skincare routine so I decided it was time to splurge on this so-called 'miracle' product. The Vintner’s Daughter Serum ingredients are a mixture of over 22 different active botanicals aimed to help brighten and nourish any skin type; from acne-prone skin to aging skin.

If I had to suggest just a few skincare products, these two Vintner’s Daughter products would surly be on the list.

It has been two years and I am still continually use both products in my nightly skincare routine. I love the instant and long lasting results. Within a few weeks to a month of first using both products I started to see changes in my skin: my skin's overall surface was much smoother and brighter. Now after using the product for over a year, the results have only continued. My skin feels hydrated, brighter and overall more smooth and clear.

Also, I don't want to forget to mention that the Serum has a beautiful floral scent! (The Essence smells a bit like Apple Cider Vinegar, which I don't love as much...! But you quickly follow the Essence step with the Serum so that smell does not last.)

Test The Oil & Serum with Mini Sizes

To test the product suggest buying the travel sizes to be sure they worked for my skin before investing in the full size.

When I started with the small sizes they lasted me about 20-30 days. (20 days for the 5ml Serum and 30 days for the 10ml Essence.) Once I was about halfway through the small sizes, I quickly ordered full sizes of both the Vintner’s Daughter Active Essence Treatment and Active Botanical Serum from Follain (one of my go-to resources for all things clean beauty.)

How to use Vintner’s Daughter products:

  • Each night, I wash my face with my Cleansing Complex by IsClincial and dry my face with my Makeup Towels from Weezie.

  • Once I have clean skin, I spray 4-5 spritzes of the Active Essence Treatment onto my face, neck and chest. I then use my palms to pat the product into my skin. April Gargiulo, the founder of Vintner's Daughter, calls this the 'Pat and Press Method.'

  • Next, I take about five drops of the Active Botanical Serum into one palm. I then rub both palms together to warm up the oil slightly and then again pat the Serum all over my face and neck. Vintner's Daughter calls this the 'Push & Press Method,' suggesting you do it for about 30 seconds on your face, neck, and décolleté.

  • And many nights, that is it! All I need as my nighttime skincare routine.

  • If I feel extra tired or that my eye area needs a little extra love, I will finish off with using the Awakening Eye Gel from Tammy Fender. (I always seem to have a hard time finding an eye cream I like but this one has been a new favorite for the past few months!)

  • If you want to see the skincare routine in action be sure to watch my Instagram Reel (where I am wearing this Short Sleeve Weezie Robe.)

Other Notes:

  • I have chosen to use my Vintner's Daughter products at night, because the hours of sleep allow for maximum time for the products to absorb and work their magic. You could certainly also use the products in the morning (or both morning & night), whatever is best for you!

  • I want to mention that the Essence has a slight apple cider smell that you might not love at first, but I quickly got used to it. I love the scent of the serum, it is a natural floral scent that is lovely!
