My Needlepoint Pillow on The TODAY Show
imagine seeing a text from a friend pop up on your phone that they saw my name on the TODAY Show!?!
Talk about a text you never in one million years expect to receive— certainly a pinch-me moment.
I am thrilled to share that earlier today, one of my images was included in a segment on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, where Elizabeth Mayhew spoke about Design Trends in 2021.
Watch the full video clip here on the TODAY show website.
Elizabeth spoke about a few trends:
Wallpaper
Grandmillennial - aka your grandmother's decor updated for 2021
Mix & Matching Various Styles
Wall to wall carpeting
It was such an honor to be included by Elizabeth while she discussed Grandmillenial decor. It almost felt like a full-circle moment, as back in 2020 when Emma Bazillian first coined the 'Grandmillenial' term, she kindly interviewed me for her House Beautiful article, The Rise of 'Grandmillenial' Style.
A big thank you to Elizabeth for including me in this segment - be sure to follow her on instagram @elizabethmayhew to keep up to date on everything she is up to!
Elizabeth is a regular contributor for The Today Show and Washington Post, she is also a fantastic baker and always sharing her fabulous #Dutchy creations. Then if that was not enough, she is also a decorator. See Elizabeth's beautiful home in Dutchess County, NY, here on Schumacher's blog.
The image Elizabeth selected was so fitting - as the chair (covered in a floral chintz fabric from Lee Jofa) used to be my grandmother's and have since been passed down to me. So they are literally my grandmother's decor in a new era.
