My 10 Favorite Clean Beauty Products

Beauty products linked below. Weezie Hand Towel and Small Belle Rives Lacquer Company Tray.

If you are a regular reader of Simply Elegant, you know that I aim to use clean and natural skincare and beauty products as much as possible. Of course, like everything in life, I am far from perfect about it, but I figure based on all the science and data about harmful chemicals, why not make some clean beauty swaps when possible.

People often ask me what my favorite clean beauty products are, so today; I wanted to share a list of my ten favorite clean beauty products. These are products that I reach for daily and have repurchased again and again, year after year. Indeed my tried and true favorites!

When it comes to clean and non-toxic beauty,

one of my favorite retailers is Follain.

I credit Follain for my early introduction to clean skincare, back in 2013 when they opened their first brick and mortar store in Boston. Their shop was right around the corner from my brother's apartment, and I remember popping into their beautiful, light-filled shop and being so impressed by their range of products and outlook on skincare. Over the years, the Follain brand has grown exponentially as they have opened countless more stores and now have their own skincare line. Yet, all the while, they have continued their exceptional customer service and curated approach to finding the best brands and products; to this day, 9 years later, Follain is my go-to retailer for clean and safe beauty and skincare.

My 10 Favorite Clean Beauty Products To Buy From Follain

SKINCARE

  • Active Treatment Essence by Vintner's Daughter

    • Read a full review of why I love these Vintner's Daughter products here.

  • Active Botanical Serum by Vintner's Daughter

    • If you are interested in trying both the Essence and Serum, this combo trial size set would be a great place to start. The smaller travel size allows you to test the product before investing in the full size before you confirm the product works well for your skin. I have never had any issues with Vintner's Daughter and I think their products are one of the best investments I make in my skin BUT I have read reviews that some people have gotten breakouts, so that is why I suggest starting with this smaller size. However, I must tell you, my skin has never glowed the way it does when I use this product!

  • Water-Lock Moisturizer by Tata Harper

    • For over a year it felt like I was on a hunt for a good light weight moisturizer but once I started using this version from Tata Harper back in February I knew I found the perfect solution. It is the perfect simple layer to add to my skin each morning before I start the day to keep my skin hydrated.

  • Resurfacing Mask by Tata Harper

    • If there is one clean beauty product that yields instant results - this is it!

    • I reach for this product whenever I want my skin to feel refreshed or have that ideal 'glow' we all hope for. It is perfect to use before a big event or a night on the town. I have been repurchasing this face mask since my college days and never like it when I run out. (P.S. This also makes a great gift!)

  • Dual Detox Mask by Follain

    • I suspect that I am not the only one who has congested skin from time to time.… Any time I need some detoxifying, I reach for this Follain mask to pull out all the impurities.

MAKEUP

  • Slip Tint SPF Tinted Moisturizer by Saie

    • Most days, I don't like to wear a heavy makeup on my face, so I reach for this tinted moisturizer that includes SPF 35. The formula is super light, it almost feels like you that you have nothing on while at the same time it helps give your face a more even complexion.

    • I wear shade 3 in the winter months and 3.5 in the summer when I have more of a natural tan.

    • *Note, I do find this product to have a bit of a odd smell. It does not bother me much, just something I notice right when I apply it (it is almost like play dough maybe?) So again, this does not stop me from using it more or less daily, but I do want to point this out as it might not be the product for you if you are very sensitive to smells.

  • True Skin Serum Concealer by Ilia

    • I think a 'clean' concealer can be one of the hardest things to find! The team at Follain recommended this Ilia concealer to me a few years ago and I have never looked back! (Now my mom uses it also!) It is perfect for under my eyes and any blemishes.

    • I wear shade Chicory (TSSC-01)

  • Limitless Lash Mascara by Ilia

    • I wear contacts that sometimes make me rub my eyes throughout the day, so I need a mascara that is not prone to smudging, and this Ilia mascara fits the bill.

  • Bronzing Powder from Vapour

    • Last summer I was on a hunt for a new bronzer and the gals at Follain suggested this product to me, I had not tried anything from Vapour before but I took their word for it (because those gals know what they are talking about!) And wow, I love this product. It just gives you that perfect subtle glow with the faintest sparkle. (I also have now started using Vapour’s primer and I love that as well!)

    • I war shade Eclipse - the lighter of the two shade options which is a warm, golden brown.

  • Balmy Hydrating Lip Balm by Ilia

    • I love a pretty pale pink lip but don’t like anything too matte and prefer something that feels soft and hydrating. This lip balm does just the trick. The color is really nicely pigmented so it will last all day but it also is very comfortable to wear.

    • I love shade Hold Me - a peachy nude with warm undertones

And there you have it, 10 products I love and continually repurchase from Follain.

If you are ever wondering where to start with clean beauty - any of these products would be great items to try!
